2. Yearling - an animal 1 year old or in it's second year. The birthday of all horses arbitrarly are set at Jan, 1. On that date, any foal born in the preceding year is reckoned 1 year old.
3. Gelding - a castrated male horse.
4. Injuries - they are suffered, not sustained or received.
